Leadership Tioga County: Youth Program Reboot- Currently (Jan. 2018), our Be Your Best You workgroup is tackling the redesign of a very respected home grown Tioga County program that gives youth skills to be successful for the future and exposes them to the rich diversity of our local economy. Stay tuned for details!
WalkWorks– A collaboration between University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health and the Pa Dept. of Health and the Tioga County Partnership for Community Health to increase opportunities for physical activity in Tioga County, Pa.
The Partnership Opioid Coalition– This is a group of first responders, medical system personnel, county leaders, education system personnel, rehabilitation services personnel, and nonprofit leaders who are evaluating the extent of the opioid substance abuse crisis in Tioga County and looking for solutions to support the health of our Tioga County community.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative– The Partnership encourages local participation in federal drug take back events and works to increase the number of prescription drop box locations in Tioga County, Pa. Major local partner: Wellsboro Police Department. 2018 DEA Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be on April 28th, 10am-2pm at participating locations.
Children’s Health Fair and Family Day– June 9th, 2018! Every year, on the second Saturday in June, the Tioga County Partnership assists major planning partners, Wellsboro Chamber of Commerce and the Wellsboro Montessori Children’s Center to host a day of free family fun! Dozens of partnering community organizations, individuals, and generous local funders contribute to this successful annual event.
First Responder Project– A team project to increase recruitment and retention of emergency first responders in Tioga County, Pa.
Fit For Life– FFL is a structured recreation program open to all area youth ages 5-17, free of charge. FFL focuses on healthy physical activity and nutrition. The program is open Monday-Friday, noon-2:30 immediately following the Northern Tioga Summer Feeding program (children ages birth-18) in three Northern Tioga locations: Westfield, Knoxville, and Elkland. 2017 Fit For Life program details.
